The sound of creaking wood in a full family house at the foot of the Pyrenees, the crisp mountain air and the cackling chickens in the mornings, the taste of stolen gooseberries and raw hazelnuts from the vegetable garden, the smell of the fireplace and storytelling on late evenings…
Cal Terra is reminiscent of childhood experiences that have lingered in my memory. It is also the product of my passion for textiles and my job as a designer, which pushed me to travel further and further, looking for local weaves, intricate patterns and new colour combinations… Which eventually turned me into an avid explorer, encountering the most amazing street food, the humblest locals and the warmest welcomes. And so, after many years of wandering and searching for the brightest green, the greatest peacefulness, the juiciest fruits and the warmest smiles, I realised I needed something other than city life.
I was guided out of my comfort zone down the path less travelled and introduced to permaculture. Shortly after, I found myself looking for a place surrounded by nature to call my home where I could welcome a community of like-minded souls in need of rest and reconnection with the land and our roots.
